John’s lifelong love of gardening and the outdoors led him to earn a horticultural degree and build a successful landscape architecture business, which he ran for over 30 years. His creative eye and hands-on expertise shaped countless spaces before he pivoted to a second career in hairstyling, where he spent a decade bringing artistry and connection to a new canvas. The original visionary behind the Double D Ranch & Farm, John blends his passions—designing edible landscapes, leading culinary production, and creating seasonal offerings that reflect the spirit of the land—while honoring Appalachian heritage. Whether he’s in the kitchen, garden, or greeting guests, John brings warmth, creativity, and a deep-rooted sense of place to everything he touches.
Tommie is the driving force behind Double D Ranch & Farm. With a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)—alongside a background in military and academic leadership—he infuses the farm with discipline, care, and strategic insight in every venture. As co-founder and retreat coordinator, Dr. Tommie guides the farm’s evolution with grounded vision and purpose. He designs wellness experiences, botanical offerings, and community programs that celebrate heritage while fostering intentional living. His role bridges vision and execution, ensuring that every detail reflects a deep commitment to legacy, stewardship, and sustainable growth.
Cynde brings over 25 years of leadership in hospitality, property management, and sales to her role at Double D Ranch & Farm. Her career includes restaurant management, employee training, and program development across service industries, where she built high-performing teams and elevated customer experience. At the farm, Cynde leads garden operations and guest engagement, ensuring every visitor feels welcomed and every detail—from seasonal prep to market presentation—is thoughtfully executed. Her strategic mindset and hands-on approach make her an essential force behind the farm’s daily rhythm and growing reputation.
Kiersten is the founder of Para Voce LLC, and serves as our digital consultant and webmaster. With an Associate’s degree in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Business Administration, she brings technical fluency, intuitive design, and a deep respect for our brand’s ethos to every digital detail. Kiersten also facilitates wellness offerings through Para Voce, weaving care into both code and community
